The NEB Checklist, developed by our experts on behalf of and in close cooperation with the European Commission, is a self-assessment tool to help project promoters evaluate how built environment projects align with the NEB core values and working principles. The NEB Checklist can be used for the following aims: Assessment of the compliance of “small” projects (buildings and open spaces with investment costs approximately below EUR 100,000) with NEB. Preliminary screening of projects of any size to assess their alignment with NEB, excluding complex urban-scale schemes. In general, early-stage evaluation of any project idea against the NEB values and principles. The Checklist can be used at any stage of a project’s lifecycle by informing decision-making. This tool is designed for users with a good understanding of their project but does not require advanced technical expertise. However, for more complex or larger projects, input from the project’s design or engineering team may be needed.
The New European Bauhaus Investment Guidelines, developed in close collaboration with the European Commission, set the basis for how and why investments in built environment projects can be made consistent with the New European Bauhaus values and principles. The Guidelines target investments in buildings, open spaces, and neighbourhoods and provide a contribution through: General advice helping investors, developers, and project owners better understand the NEB and its connection to various aspects and stages of investment and project development. Concrete recommendations (called “NEB Investment Recommendations”), including planning and design solutions, technological solutions, public engagement approaches and alternative operation models, that help shape high-quality projects in line with the NEB values and principles.
The EIB Advisory JASPERS has developed an Excel tool with the aim to support beneficiaries of small water & wastewater projects to complete a climate resilience assessment that is proportionate to the size of the projects. The Excel tool has been designed for the climate resilience assessment of small projects that need to comply with the climate proofing requirement of the Common Provisions Regulation Art. 73 point 2 (j).
