Over 1,200 participants took part in a series of webinars on climate proofing, organized by EIB Advisory under the JASPERS mandate, in cooperation with the Spanish Ministry of Finance.

The sessions focused on applying the European Commission’s climate proofing methodology to various types of large-scale infrastructure projects (over €10 million).

Climate proofing is a mandatory requirement for all infrastructure projects with a lifespan of at least five years seeking EU funding, regardless of investment size. Its purpose is to ensure that projects are resilient to climate risks and aligned with the EU’s decarbonisation targets.

These webinars support the implementation of climate proofing requirements under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the preparation of investments aligned with EU climate resilience and decarbonisation goals.

This work is directly aligned with the EIB Group’s strategic priorities on climate action, resilience, supporting the green transition and cohesion policy across Europe.
