About

The conference is a major event organised by the European Commission, Directorate General for Regional and Urban policy, together with the JASPERS initiative, and was held on 2 July in Brussels.

Objectives

The main goal of this Conference was to present to key stakeholders the updated Guide to Cost-Benefit Analysis of Investment Projects, which provides methodological guidance for the preparation and appraisal of projects financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the Cohesion Fund in the 2014-2020 programming period.

The new developments in the CBA methodology and the legislative and procedural changes related to Major Projects financing were presented during the event.

The updated CBA guide was prepared by the European Commission with help of consultants and the support of JASPERS as technical advisor to DG REGIO. It builds on vast experience gained in the preparation and appraisal of major projects in the programming period 2007-2013, and aims to provide practical recommendations and case studies for the authorities involved in major projects and for all consultants preparing the project documentation.

The event was an opportunity for sharing information and for discussing approaches with key experts involved in updating the Guide.
