Roads
A road network will serve your country if it connects cities and villages efficiently across the land, and links with the rest of the European network and beyond. Free movement of people and goods is at stake. Competitiveness too. Traffic should be fluid and efficient, and driving should be safe. Building, maintaining and running the infrastructure should be smooth whilst the burden on taxpayers should be acceptable. Finally the road network should cause the least possible disturbance in terms of noise, quality of air and water, and of course impact on the ecosystem and human health.
With this in mind, JASPERS can help you prepare projects to:
- upgrade existing roads, expressways and motorways
to make them safer, faster and more sustainable
- build missing road links
to open up remote areas and facilitate business
- build connections with the main European transport corridors
materialising the European single market
- build ring roads or bypasses
to reduce congestion in city centres
- improve safety measures
including guidance for road safety audits
