JASPERS first supported Malta in 2006 and our assistance has been extensive, covering many sectors.
Some of the projects supported include urban development, TEN-T infrastructure and waste management. Our assistance in developing modern waste management infrastructure was a stepping-stone for Malta in its transition towards a circular economy. At strategical level, we helped develop a National Transport Master Plan and revise Malta’s smart specialisation strategy.
JASPERS’ support helped Malta build a new oncology centre at the Mater Dei multispecialty hospital, the leader in the diagnosis and treatment of oncological diseases in the country. This project increased access to many health services in Malta, helping patients avoid costly and complicated travel to other countries for treatment. It was the first hospital in Malta to have linear accelerators, plus many other modern oncological technology.
