Lithuania and JASPERS signed the first country action plan in 2006.

Half of our projects are transport related. They include city bypasses around Vilnius, the construction of Rail Baltica and the electrification of TEN-T railway corridor. In other topics, JASPERS has supported the development of energy performance contracting (EPC) funding schemes in the National Promotional Institution in Lithuania and a biomass-based power plant.

JASPERS strategic support covers about one-third of all activities and offers a wide array of technical and specialised expertise. Together with the Lithuanian authorities, we have strengthened the environmental skills of project experts, contributed to the development of the waste management sector, weighed up investment needs in the water sector and provided early advice on the potential implications of State aid in waste incineration projects.
