Lithuania and JASPERS signed the first country action plan in 2006.
Our projects include city bypasses around Vilnius, the construction of Rail Baltica, Poland-Lithuania power interconnection, and a biomass-based power plant and waste-to-energy facility, also in Vilnius.
JASPERS strategic support covers about one-third of all activities and offers a wide array of technical and specialised expertise. Together with the Lithuanian authorities, we have strengthened the environmental skills of project experts, contributed to the development of the waste management sector, weighed up investment needs in the water sector and provided early advice on the potential implications of State aid in waste incineration projects.
More recently, JASPERS continues its operations in the country with two assignments: the electrification of TEN-T railway corridor 9 and support for the development of energy performance contracting (EPC) funding schemes in the National Promotional Institution in Lithuania.
