Latvia and JASPERS signed the first country action plan in 2006. Support has been provided across a range of sectors.

Among others, we have assisted in research, development and innovation projects and energy efficiency programmes, advised on health infrastructure and solid waste assignments, and helped with wastewater and flood protection measures.

We have also boosted mobility by supporting key transport infrastructure projects, such as the modernisation of seaports, the electrification of railway lines and the construction of new sections of road.

We have also worked together with Riga on water services. Thanks to this project, 4 200 residents are now connected to the drinking water network and around 6 000 to the sewerage system. Roughly 40 km of new water pipes and 55 km of wastewater pipes have also been installed.
