Rail, Air and Maritime

A country’s transport system must make sense as a whole. Rail, air and maritime routes should complement or supersede the road network to improve seamless movement of people and freight, both on national territory and beyond. In cities, buses, trams and metros are sustainable alternatives to cars, provided traffic is smooth and reliable and as long as they serve strategic points with ease of switching from one transport mode to another. Last but not least, rail, air and maritime transport generates trade, promotes tourism, creates jobs and facilitates integration into the global economy. Investments can be amongst the largest and most regulated a country ever has to make.

With this in mind, JASPERS can help you prepare projects to:

  • upgrade railway lines and rolling stock
for faster, more reliable, more comfortable, safer and less polluting train connections
  • build missing links to the European rail network
in the framework of Trans-European Networks
  • refurbish railway stations
improving their operation and integrating them into a smart urban plan
  • upgrade tram and metro lines and renovate rolling stock
promoting cleaner and safer urban transport
  • build or upgrade ports and airports and improve inland waterways
to increase passenger and freight capacity and complement the overall transport infrastructure in the countries concerned
